. couple of huge games going on, maryland/navy and virginia tech and boise state. i'll have the forecast in a couple of minutes. here is the live view from our sky watcher camera. you can see the potomac in the distance and off in the horizon is prince george's county. few clouds coming through, but overall lots of sunshine. 77 at national airport. in the suburbs and around the beltway it's in the low to mid-70s there. cooler around the shenandoah valley and blue ridge, down in the 40s this morning around the bay it's near 80 degrees away from the water in the mid-70ss and upper 70ss now in southern virginia and the carolinas near 80. out of the mountains near 60 now with only in the low 40s there this morning, high pressure over the region. we have a weak low passing to the north that may bring in a few clouds this afternoon. but overall lots of sunshine with low humidity and a light wind. we'll reach the low to mid-80s. we'll look at the rest of the week and the forecast for the upcoming weekend in a few minutes. . >>. >> more than 40 horses are dead after a fire. it happened around 5:

dry across maryland, delaware, really all of virginia for that matter. take you out a little wider perspective. couple areas of high pressure, the main one off shore, really there's another bubble out here over the tennessee valley. going to keep the south wind coming up. keep mild dry conditions around here for another 48 hours or so before a cooler north breeze kicks back in, even that front coming in i don't think is going to produce much in the way of rain if anything. few clouds tonight into the day tomorrow, tomorrow looks like a lot of sun line, fantastic day. we'll probably get back into the upper 80s, if you look over here, this is actually our next cool front, this marches in as we go late into the afternoon on wednesday. looks like we're going to have a warm start wednesday but by wednesday night you'll feel that cool north breeze coming in. doesn't look like that is going to trigger any shower activity. one disturbance off puerto rico, and also tropical storm her mean now off the mexican- texas border. looks to come into south texas the next day really, next 24 hours, t

with that out through west virginia, there is a little bit of cloud cover but not much. we're looking good. across the entire east coast clear as a bell. we do have a couple of areas of high pressure, one over the tennessee valley, one probably the more influencing our weather at the moment is the one off of new england right here. causing a little bit of a south wind flow to develop, brings in that milder air and gets rid of that northerly breeze we had the last coupled days. dry and mild, the next couple days, gets warm earn beings wednesday evening cooler air will begin to funnel in again. we're going to go back and forth, getting to be that time of year where the air masses battle it out. few clouds tonight, end of the day tomorrow, more of those beautiful blue skies, postcard skies, deep blues, then into our tuesday and wednesday time frame, our next front hard to make it out here, begins to edge in wednesday morning, really want to ride the cool air until later in the afternoon, back into the mid-to upper 80s, quickly cooling off wednesday night. that's for sure. tropics

the inner loop from virginia into montgomery county. can you see there is some accident activity there in the center of your screen. it is off to the left side of the road and not causing any problems for you if you are headed up towards the bethesda area. heading from maryland into virginia on the outer loop to the right of your screen not affected, no travel lanes blocked and effect is running just fine. wide open there. 95 in virginia, southbound, same story, we've got an accident just south of this scene, south of lorton right before route one in woodbridge. it is off to the right shoulder and you can see not causing a problem here. northbound 95 looks great in fredericksburg all the way up to springfield. vut host lanes pointed north but the restricts are lifted as is the case on all of our highways except for route 50, the john hanson highway. let's look at video we have an earlier accident, veil road at center ridge drive. this is a serious wreck early this morning of his there was an arrest in this accident. there was also some injuries. we had police police on the scene

west virginia just behind the charlestown racetrack. stacey is just back from west virginia with the story. >> reporter: this is a story of unspeakable tragedy and incredible bravery. this is a fire that started in one barn. a witness said it sounded like an explosion and quickly spread to two other barns. trapped inside were 50 racehorses amend the barns burned some nearby horsemen and women, even some charlestown casino workers rescued to try to save the terrified animals. >> if question save a horse's life it is something we do. like a doctor saving a human beings life. we went to the fire an the smoke was too much to go in the barn. >> within minutes of getting the others out the flames were taking over other barns and we were seconds from getting those out. >> they managed to got out 26 horses from that burning barn. the survivors were rounded up and led in to an empty stable that charlestown raceway made available for them. even a few goats that served as companion animals that made it out alive, as well. a total of 27 horses did perish. damage is stimed at 1.2 many dollars
